The idea

This is how we picture it

Start the day in Europe and have dinner in Asia without leaving the same city, sleep inside a cave in Cappadocia and walk barefoot over a white mountain of thermal water. Turkey brings together things that exist nowhere else.

This is a trip idea, not a fixed package: every version is designed around the person living it.

Days 1-3

Istanbul, the double city

Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar, and in between a boat ride on the Bosphorus: Europe on one side, Asia on the other.

Istanbul is walked in layers: every empire left its own. The spice bazaar smells the same as it did five hundred years ago, and the tea arrives on its own, without asking.

Days 4-5

Cappadocia and the night in the cave

The valleys of fairy chimneys, the underground cities and a night in a hotel carved into the rock, which here is not a whim: it is how homes have always been.

At dawn the sky fills silently with balloons. Going up is optional; watching them from the terrace over breakfast is unavoidable.

Day breaks, and the sky over Cappadocia fills with balloons without a sound.

Day 6

Pamukkale, the cotton castle

White travertine terraces with thermal water, and above them the ruins of Hierapolis, the spa town of the Romans.

You walk it barefoot, with warm water at your ankles. The mountain has spent millennia building itself, layer by layer.

Days 7-10

Ephesus and back to Istanbul

The Library of Celsus, the great theatre and the marble streets of Ephesus, one of the best preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean, and two final nights in Istanbul for whatever was left undone.

Ephesus asks for comfortable shoes and no hurry: the scale of the city is only understood by walking all of it.
