The light that invented the Renaissance
Art, the table and the Mediterranean in a single trip
The idea
This is how we picture it
Eternal Rome, the vineyards of Tuscany and the villages perched on the Amalfi Coast. A trip to be savoured slowly, like a good espresso.
This is a trip idea, not a fixed package: every version is designed around the person living it.
Days 1-3
Rome: the eternal city
The Colosseum at dawn, the Vatican without the crowds, a stroll through Trastevere and the best carbonara of your life in a trattoria with no sign. Rome is not visited, it is lived.
Rome is walked, which is why it pays to get up early: the Colosseum first thing is a different building. Between one ruin and the next there is a square with a café, and stopping there is part of the plan too.

Days 4-6
Tuscany: among vineyards and cypresses
A scenic drive to Tuscany, a stop in Siena, a wine tasting in Chianti and a sunset in Val d’Orcia that looks like a Renaissance painting.
Tuscany is driven slowly, with stops that were not planned. Vineyards are visited by appointment and the tasting is done sitting down. At sunset the cypresses outline the hill and you understand where so much painting came from.

Here you do not visit: you walk, you eat and you come back different.

Amalfi Coast
Positano, Amalfi and Ravello: colourful villages hanging from the cliff, homemade limoncello, boat trips to hidden grottoes and dinners overlooking the Mediterranean.
The coast is travelled along a narrow road hanging from the cliff, and also by boat, which is how you see the villages head on. Positano steps down to the water, Ravello watches it all from above, and the limoncello is made at home.
