Both are called “an adventure trip” and they are nothing alike: the number of days changes, the gear changes and what you need to know beforehand changes.

Almost everything is learnt there
In Utila many people get their first diving certification: you go in knowing nothing and come out with a licence. The rafting on the Cangrejal has stretches for people who have never set foot on a raft.
What you do have to decide beforehand is how hard you want the trip to push you.
Some beaches you reach by plane. Others, by pushing the boat off the sand, all together, until it floats.

The Mesoamerican Reef runs past the Bay Islands and in several places you swim out to it from the shore. That is the reason serious divers come to Honduras.
And half an hour from La Ceiba there is a river with rapids and the Pico Bonito jungle above.

A dive resort has your gear ready at seven in the morning. A lodge in the park leaves the trail at your door. There is no right answer: there is the one that suits you.
That is why you will not see a price on this page. The trip is quoted once we know what it is.
The day the sea is flat and visibility reaches thirty metres, nobody remembers what the trip cost.
