This is how we picture it
A trip that begins within the walls of Cartagena and ends in the heights of the Sierra Nevada, passing through untouched beaches and villages that taste of coffee.
This is a trip idea, not a fixed package: every version is designed around the person living it.
Days 1-3
Cartagena de Indias
The walled centre on foot, Getsemaní at sunset, dinner in a colonial courtyard and a boat trip to the Rosario Islands: the Colombian Caribbean in its purest form.
The walls are best walked when the sun goes down and the stone gives off the heat of the day. Getsemaní is not a stage set: it is a living neighbourhood, with music in the doorways and people sitting outside.

Days 4-5
Santa Marta and Tayrona Park
A short flight to Santa Marta and into Tayrona: jungle trails that open onto beaches where the mountains meet the sea. Night in an eco-lodge.
You enter Tayrona on foot, and that filters out the crowds. The mountains drop to the water without warning, so in a single day you go from humid jungle to a coarse-sand beach.

Sierra Nevada and coffee villages
A climb to a Kogi indigenous village, a walk among waterfalls and a single-origin coffee workshop. On the last day, the market in Minca and the journey home with the flavours still on your tongue.
Sierra Nevada coffee is grown in the shade, and tasting it where it is harvested changes what you understood by coffee. The Kogi village is visited with a guide and with respect: it is not an attraction, it is a community.
